All you need is love... and a DOG!
Our little crew is 4 weeks old!
It is hard to believe they have already spent half of their time with us.
This week, I posted our traditional sign pictures. (ALWAYS my favorite!)
I plan to take some detailed personality notes over the next few days and I will update by Wednesday with early personality characteristics that we are seeing from each pup.
My computer died, so I am behind this week!
I wanted to jump on from my cell real fast and let everyone know puppy blogs will be updated tomorrow.
It's been a busy week!
We have upgraded from the whelping box to the puppy pen... or "the puppy palace" as my girls like to call it.
I can't wait to show off how much they have grown.
Look how they've grown!
Eyes and ears are wide open and we are all strong enough to sit up pretty and explore the whelping box!
If you missed the video of the puppies playing, look at the previous blog!
The very beginning stages of play has begun!
It will only get more and more fun from here.
Eyes are open!
(Some still more than others, but I couldn't wait any longer to share.)
Eyes opened up and these pups began to move!
So, they have been upgraded to the bigger pool.
They still spend most of their time sleeping in a puppy pile,
but they have the space to move around when they want to.
So many sweet faces!
Another week has quickly passed!
Everyone is weighing in between 1.2 pounds and 2 pounds.
Eyes are all starting to open!
Some the seals are loosening and others are seeing clearly!
This is always one of the most exciting milestones!
We love seeing those little blue eyes and it's so fun watching them experience the world for the first time.
Our Lola Bear is doing great!
I don't know what I love most about this picture, Lola's proud smile or
the visual of how much the puppies have grown!
They are growing so fast.
This litter is doing great.
Our first major milestone, doubling birth weight, has been met!
We even had a few over achievers who gained more than double!
Lola is doing a wonderful job tending to them all.
This week, we look forward to eyes opening!
I cannot wait to see those baby blues looking back at us.
Look at all those little round bellies and that proud Mom huddled up with her babies.
Lola is such a sweet mom, to both her babies and mine.
She has started to make her rounds around the house, leaving the whelping area just long enough to check on the family and then quickly coming back to her babies.
Late Saturday evening, Miss Lola welcomed nine sweet souls into the world.
Four boys arrived first.
Just when we were certain that we would have an all boy litter, five little girls followed.
Miss 6 was the smallest pup in the litter. Weighing in at 6.5 ounces.
Mister 3 was the largest. Weighing in at exactly 10 ounces.
Everyone else was scattered in between.
Mom is doing great!
She left the whelping box this morning, and I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and snap some pictures.
Of course, it didn't take long for her notice someone was moving her babies.
So, I carefully cropped her shadow out of every single photo. Ha! Ha!
Welcome to the world, pups! We are so happy you are here.
The anticipation is over... Miss Loa's litter has arrived!
I am working on creating individual blogs now and will try to get pictures tomorrow. Right now, we are letting the the proud mommy enjoy her babies with as few interruptions as possible. Everyone gained weight at their 24 hour weigh in. So, they are all off the a great start.
